I used to visit this temple in Waltham, MA — an hour away from where I lived in Boston. It was my favorite weekend get-a-way and meditation to clam my mind from sophomore to senior in college. The Shifu (master), as a host of temple, helped me gone through some tough time of my life just through his wisdom of words.
He once said to me "The way of "letting go" is like melting ice; and your temperature will determines the speed of melting."
2020 was not an easy year for everyone, whereas, a lot of us have found more time to read and meditate with less distraction around us. From reading Seneca's Letters from a Stoic to In the Praise of Shadow... I gradually learned to appreciate the dark side and embrace the hardships.
Now that I have both of my knees injured, comparing both injuries,  it ha been a crescendo letting go my pain through these years.
For my ACL injury since January, 2021, I have also starting to take time and leave space for self-care and to pay attention to my body more.
This music interaction piece echoes back to what Shifu (master from the temple) said to me, "The way of 'letting go' is like melting ice; and your temperature will determines the speed of melting." — Through this concept, I will have the melting -ice- water and my knee MRI generated graphs as interaction input, through Max and Ableton, music will be played as an output.
